CPR/AED Certification & First-Aid Courses Offered

Heartsaver First Aid, CPR AED Full Course:

Course Fee $80.00

Description: The Heartsaver First Aid Course provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately following an emergency until the arrival of emergency medical services personnel. The course also provides corporations with a complete health and safety training solution for First Aid, CPR and AED.

Intended Audience: Persons assigned to respond to emergencies in the workplace or community as well as those who want to learn first aid, CPR and AED skills. Some rescuers are required to take this course as part of their employer's efforts to comply with OSHA regulations, e.g., corporate employees, security guards, airline personnel, lifeguards and other individuals who want or need first aid training. Not intended for healthcare professionals.

 

BLS Healthcare Providers Skills Session:

Course Fee $50.00

Description: BLS Skills Session is a blended learning course designed for both new and seasoned healthcare professionals. Prior to enrolling in the BLS Skills Session, students must have completed the online AHA Heartcode® BLS portion of the course with the American Heart Association.

The online AHA Heartcode® BLS course uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills. This online method of learning provides training consistency, adaptability to different learning styles, and flexibility for the student’s and employer’s time. Students can work at their own pace applying their knowledge to real-time decision making. After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing.

Intended Audience: Most healthcare providers physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and others as required by their employer.

The In-Person BLS Healthcare Providers Skills Session: is required for final completion of the course and for issuance of a valid BLS Provider Certification Card. Students should Print out and bring proof of having successfully completed the online portion of the course with them to the scheduled BLS Skills Sessions with an AHA instructor. During the BLS Skills Session, students will practice BLS skills and check-off on the manikins. The required pocket mask with one-way valve is provided for the student to use during training and keep following the class. The cost of the BLS Skills Session is $50.00. Certifications for BLS Provider are issued same day.

 

BLS Healthcare Providers Full Course:

Course Fee $80.00

Description: The BLS Healthcare Providers Full Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Upon successful completion of the BLS Skills test, students must pass the written exam with a score of 84%.

 

ACLS Healthcare Provider Skills Session:

Course Fee $140.00

Description: The ACLS Healthcare Provider Skills Session is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings.

Prior to enrolling in the ACLS Healthcare Provider Skills Session, students must have completed the online AHA Heartcode® ACLS portion of the course with the American Heart Association.

To enter the online course, students must complete a precourse self-assessment. Most students registering for the ACLS course currently possess a BLS Provider Certification. During the course, students will be presented with a team dynamics lesson and 10 In-hospital patient cases, including a BLS case and 2 megacode cases. The Heartcode® ACLS Provider Course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), four types of prearrest emergencies (bradychardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndromes) and stroke. The online cases may be repeated as many times as necessary to pass. Heartcode® ACLS includes a variety of additional videos, as well as the ACLS Provider Manual and the 2015 Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care, to enhance learning and facilitate successful completion of patient cases. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students must pass the online written exam with a score of 84%.

Intended Audience: Healthcare providers that need ACLS for their clinical duties. This includes physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and others as required by their employer. Up to 4.5 hour(s) of CME/CE/CEH credits offered for the online portion of the course.

The In-Person ACLS Healthcare Provider Skills Sessionn: is required for final completion of the course and for issuance of a valid ACLS Provider Certification Card. Students should Print out and bring proof of having successfully completed the online portion of the course with them to the ACLS Healthcare Provider Skills Session with an AHA instructor. During the ACLS Skills Session, students will practice and check-off on a BLS survey/case, managing a Respiratory Distress case and one of the 10 Megacodes. The required pocket mask with one-way valve is provided for the student to use during the BLS Case Assessment and to keep following the class. The cost of the ACLS Skills Session is $140.00. ACLS Certifications may have a 2-3 day turnaround period before issuance, so please plan accordingly.

 

ACLS/BLS Healthcare Provider Skills Session:

Combined Course Fee $190.00

Description: The ACLS Skills Session can be combined with a BLS Skills session. Please note: BLS Provider certification is most often seen as a requirement prior to being admitted to an ACLS course. However, if you are in need of a combined BLS Certification along with the ACLS Certification; then you must, in addition to the AHA Heartcode® ACLS online course, complete the AHA Heartcode® BLS online course, Print out and bring with you the dual documents indicating successfully completion to the cognitive portions of both courses. It would then be possible for you to check off on your BLS skills during the BLS survey and assessement portion of the ACLS course. Once passed, your BLS Certification would be issued on the same day. ACLS Certifications may have a 2-3 day turnaround period before issuance, so please plan accordingly.
